Why are we eating the wrong food? Sue starts her new column and brings her tip of the month for all EasyLoss users - Cook from home!

We all know that a wholesome diet is the best possible way to eat but sometimes we find it a bit of a challenge.  You’ll know what I mean when I say we’re all busy, not enough hours in the day, too tired…and the list goes on! Have you ever used any of these reasons to put off cooking a delicious, nutritious meal at the end of the day?

Do you know what?  It really doesn’t have to be difficult.  Like most of us I’m constantly chasing my tail and never seem to get to the end of my ‘to do’ list but I promise you, if I can do it, anyone can!

With obesity rates rising by the day, don’t you owe it to yourself to take care of YOU?

Here are my tips for making it easier to cook from home:

 

Go for ingredients that are fresh and not out of a packet as much as possible. Let’s face it, if it’s in a packet then you really don’t know what’s in it.  I can’t even say half the ingredients that are printed on the back of some of these packs.  If I can’t say it I’m not sure I want to eat it are you?

Keep it simple by cooking dishes that have 4 or less ingredients and all of a sudden it all looks more achievable doesn’t it? Make life easy for yourself and don’t overthink it. Eating healthy wholesome food will very soon become an enjoyable habit for you.

Nutrient dense foods will help you to eat smaller portions and feel satisfied more quickly.  Choose lots of different coloured fruits and vegetables.  Make it more fun by trying a fruit or vegetable you’ve never tried before each week.  You may discover something fabulous!

And remember, healthy, home cooked food will help you to reduce your weight and your food bill. So it’s win, win all round.
